​Barcelona turn attention to Arsenal defender Saliba as Kounde nears Chelsea move

Barcelona are being linked with a move for Arsenal defender William Saliba.

The centre-back, who is finally back at the club after a year on loan at Marseille, is hoping to fight for a first team spot this term.

However, sources state that Barca may turn to Saliba if they cannot prize Jules Kounde away from Sevilla.

Barca are also looking at Inter Milan’s Milan Skriniar, RB Leipzig’s Josko Gvardiol, Athletic Bilbao’s Inigo Martinez and Roma’s Roger Ibanez.

They are hoping to sign at least one new centre-back before the season starts.

A move for Chelsea’s Cesar Azpilicueta is independent of this pursuit.

The veteran will play at right-back if he signs for the Catalan club.
