Umo Eno Easter Unity Cup Football Competition kicks off, Sunday
Umo Eno Unity Cup Football Competition for the 31 Local Government teams and youth teams across the state will kick off on Sunday, 10th April, 2022.
The opening ceremony which is expected to be very colourful, will take place at West Itam Sports Complex along Ikot Ekpene road, Uyo, opposite NNPC Mega Station.
The competition which is organized by the Grassroots Sports Federation (GRASOF), is aimed at mobilizing support for the Gubernatorial aspiration of the Commissioner for Lands and Water Resources, Pastor Umo Eno as well as discovering hidden football talents abound in the state for future state and national competitions.
A statement by the Chairman Local Organizing Committee, Elder Ita Peter and Secretary, Pastor Iboro Udom indicates that the competition has so far received massive endorsement by top government functionaries, Party Chieftains, Sports Administrators among others.
According to the statement, 18 teams have so far indicated their willingness to participate in this all-important competition. Interested teams are advised to contact the organizers at 84 Aka Road, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The competition is expected to be declared open by Pastor Umo Eno to be accompanied by some Commissioners, PDP Chieftains and members of the campaign organization.
Meanwhile, the draws ceremony will take place tomorrow, Tuesday April 5th, 2023, at Tevoly Hotel, Nsit Lane, Uyo.
