Governor-Elect of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno has commended Governor Udom Emmanuel over the successful completion and commissioning of the 23.4km Etinan-Eket Road with three bridges and 4.11km outfall drain.
In his goodwill message at the ceremony held in Eket, he noted that the road hitherto constituted a major challenge to the people of the area but that the problem has now been solved.
Pastor Eno said that that beyond its normal usage, the road will become a springboard for economic growth.
According to him, “Your Excellency, I have lived in Eket for over 25 years and this road was always a problem but now you have solved that problem for us. I can now leave Uyo and know I would be in Eket in a very short time.
“You have done wonderfully well by completing this road. It is not just a road that we would drive on, but it is an economically viable one.So, we thank you”
He maintained that the governor has performed creditably well and assured that his administration will sustain the development trajectory when inaugurated.
In his words, “By the grace of God, we will continue with the good works you have done. You have laid the foundation, you have built infrastructure, and we will do the rest. We will ensure that this road will be used for entrepreneurship, we would build industries and create jobs for our youths.
“I can assure you that you will be very proud that you supported us. We will not let you down. We will not let Akwa Ibom down, and we will not let God down.” he said.
The project which was commissioned by former President of Nigeria, Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, connects Etinan, Nsit Ibom, Nsit Ubium with Eket LGA.
