Waheed: Defensive solidity essential for Niger Tornadoes title tilt

Niger Tornadoes made it two games at home without conceding a goal on Sunday afternoon after seeing off Abia Warriors in a 3-0 win.

And attacking sensation, Adebayo Waheed believes clean sheets are necessary if they are to challenge Rivers United and Doma United for the top three this season.

“That’s something we have to work on: winning all different types of games,” the winger told Lodgexpress.com.

“We know with the players that we have got going forward if we maintain those clean sheets in our remaining three fixtures then we’ve got every chance of nicking a goal at the other end.

“So it comes from the ‘keeper and all the way through the back four and all the way through the team and the way we play, everyone defends together.”
