Shooting Stars goalkeeper Adeniyi: We needed Kwara United win the more

Shooting Stars goalkeeper Bamidele Adeniyi admits the locker room is relieved after victory over Kwara United.

It marked shooting Stars’ first away victory since January 2022.

“It was important to get the three points, especially as Enyimba lost points at Akwa United and Remo Stars shared points with Gombe United later today which allowed us to close the gap to the top three by five points,” Adeniyi told Lodgexpress official website.

“It was also a victory that we desperately needed after our unimpressed showings away from home since 2022.

“It was a really tough game, played in a state of emergency, in which some late minutes magic from Joshua Akpan allowed us to get the better of Kwara United.”

Shooting now occupy the 6th position on group A standing with 16 points from 12 games played.
