Shooting Stars attacker Malomo: Player talks inspired Kwara United win
Shooting Stars captain Taofeek Malomo revealed crisis talks inside the team squad inspired victory over Kwara United on Sunday.
Malomo has revealed how a heart-to-heart between the squad helped inspire a vastly improved performance against their regional rivals, Kwara United.
“It is an amazing result for us, Kwara United is a tough place to go and in that first half we came in and showed a lot of confidence, played good football and should have gotten an early lead,” he told Lodgexpress.com.
“They (Kwara United) were better after the break, they put us under pressure but we did well defensively to shut out their threats, we then showed something we have not shown enough of recently. The character and fight to get control of the game and we that resulted in a deserved win.
“We showed we have the appetite to fight to stay up. We said we were wiping the slate clean, a new year with a new manager.
“We are not going to give up, there are still important games left and we want to build on from this now and keep fighting.”
