Remo Stars attacker Samuel Anaekwe hails coach Ogunmodede for game plan to beat El-Kanemi

Samuel Anaekwe has hailed Remo Stars manager Precious Ogunmodede for setting up a game plan to beat El-Kanemi Warriors on Wednesday.

The Sky Blue Stars stunned the NPFL group A bottom placed with a 2-1 win at the El-Kanemi Stadium.

FB_IMG_1680201045167.jpg“We had a game plan, worked on it through the week,” Anaekwe reacted when asked by Lodgexpress.com post-game.

“We had to respect El-Kanemi Warriors, they are a great team, especially while playing in front of their fans, and we knew it was going to be a game where they would have a lot of the ball, but defensively we had a structure, we had to be patient, but we knew when we won the ball back, we could hurt them on the counter-attack.

“It’s great to see the plan work – everyone was focussed, everyone’s mentality was on it and it’s what we’re going to need, in different games you need different tactics and that showed.

“I’m delighted for the lads, from Bankole all the way through, everyone worked their socks off, and we deserved the victory in the end.”
