Kayode Bankole the difference as Remo Stars defeat El-Kanemi to continue unbeaten run
Kayode Bankole continued his excellent form by helping Remo Stars secure a victory in Wednesday’s clash at El-Kanemi.
The Sky Blue Stars goalkeeper was again at his best against in Maiduguri, proving why he belongs in the star-studded Ogunmodede line-up.
In total Bankole made 6 saves, 2 of them terrific reflex stops to deny the Warriors’ players from corners.
El-Kanemi Warriors had multiple chances to win the game, but botched most of their goalscoring opportunities before Mohammed Eboma finally found the back of the net just before the final whistle.
The result means Precious Ogunmodede’s men have gone two matches without a loss, taking them to second on the NPFL group A table with five points adrift table toppers, Bendel Insurance.
For El-Kanemi Warriors, the loss leaves them languishing in the bottom of the table with a seven point buffer from 8th-placed Kwara United.
