Emmanuel Jonas happy to prove Niger Tornadoes matchwinner at Dakkada
Emmanuel Jonas was happy to prove Tornadoes’ matchwinner on Sunday afternoon at Dakkada.
Niger Tornadoes’ attacking revelation in the form of striker Emmanuel Jonas, once again made his presence felt in his impressive performance away from home.
With his physical attributes clearly on display, Jonas continually tussled with the Dakkada defenders.
In the 15th minute, following a brilliant through ball from new signing James Arong, Jonas bullied Dakkada defender to the floor and lob the ball over the head of on-rushing goalie Loveday, to score the second goal after David Okoromi had opened the scoring in 5 minutes.
Jonas told Lodgexpress.com after the game: “It was not an easy game, as always in this stadium. We have shown that we are an excellent team and now we are thinking about Wednesday’s fixture.
“You always have to stay on track. I was able to take advantage of (James) Arong’s pass.
“Despite the difficult moments you have to be strong and sooner or later the right time comes.”
Reacting on the superb display from new teammate James Arong, Jonas added;
“Honestly, with his aggressiveness at the middle and getting up towards the strikers, winning the ball back and breaking forward he was great for us.
James Arong
“He’s like a beast on the pitch and when he got through he passed it to me!”
