2023: Cletus Bassey, Nnyenime Andy Plot Showdown Against Gov Emmanuel

As apparent defeat of their agenda to install YPP candidate, Obong Bassey Albert as governor in Akwa Ibom State in 2023 becomes staggeringly clear, the president of Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly ACA, Archbishop Cletus Bassey in connivance with Akwa Ibom State chairman of Young People Party (YPP) are set for a final showdown against Governor Udom Emmanuel and the PDP.
Barring any last minute tweak, the duo are set to roll out disruptive protests across the land of Akwa Ibom State, beginning from Uyo, their strong base this February.
They expect a handful pastors in Akwa Ibom Christian Assembly (ACA) to lead the protest, which will be immediately hijacked by YPP street boys, sympathetic OBA’s governorship bid, to fuel the protests and turn it to a conflagration that will make the state unsafe for the March 11, 2023 elections to hold.
Sources close to the lead architects of this plot informed that Archbishop Cletus Bassey, Apostle Nnyenime Andy and some leaders of YPP have been meeting mainly at night to fine-tune plans for the protests.
Since it would be difficult for them to obtain police permit to hold mass protests purportedly targeting the governor and his succession agenda, the duo now decided to route the protests through the use of ACA’s pastors who would be sponsored to bring pastors from the LGAs for prayer prayer processions.
By the design, the hoodlums in the streets of Uyo have been grouped to infiltrate and hijack the processions to cause mayhem, disruptions of activities, violence and destruction of public facilities; reminiscent of the Endsars saga.
The plan to hold mass protests began to gain more traction within the two organizations, as their earlier expection to form a stronger alliance with the remains of APC collapsed, following the court’s declaration of Obong Akanimo Udofia as guber candidate of APC for Akwa Ibom State.
It was earlier reported that Senator Bassey Albert had sought an alliance with Senator Godswill Akpabio’s faction of the APC. However, Akpabio’s condition didn’t favour YPP.
As groundwork for the protests, Apostle Nnyenime Andy, as chairman of YPP, was egged on to hold bimonthly press conferences where he will use the media to raise anti – government sentiments, which will light the fire the moment the protests begin.
