Saudi-bound Woman Arrested With Cocaine In Footwear

A 56-year-old widow and mother of four, Mrs. Ajisegiri Kehinde Sidika has been arrested by operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos for allegedly attempting to traffic 400grams of cocaine concealed in her footwear to Makkah, Saudi Arabia.
Spokesman of the Agency, Femi Babafemi, said yesterday in a statement that the suspect was intercepted on November 13 while trying to board a Qatar Airways.
Two parcels of cocaine weighing 400grams were recovered from her sandals, Babafemi said, adding that anti-narcotics officers also foiled an attempt by traffickers at the SAHCO export shed of the airport to smuggle cannabis and ecstasy tablets concealed in three tubers of yam to Dubai, UAE.
