Juventus pull back from Memphis Depay to focus on Marseille striker Milik
Juventus have pulled back from talks to sign Barcelona striker Memphis Depay.
Sport says Depay’s departure to Juventus looked certain, but in the last few hours negotiations have gone awry and now it seems as if the Dutchman will not end up at the ‘vecchia signora’.
Barça had already reached an agreement with Depays to release him on a one-year contract. All that remained was for the striker to reach a deal with Juventus, but his demands go beyond what the Italians are offering.
His lawyer, Sebastien Ledure, met Juve’s representatives on Tuesday and rejected the proposal of a two-season contract for five million euros, plus a further two million in bonuses.
Juventus have grown tired of these fruitless negotiations and instead reached an agreement with Arkadiusz Milik of Olympique Marseille.
