Methodist Church, Diocese of Uyo honours His Eminence Dr. Mbang CON

The Methodist Church Nigeria, Uyo diocese honoured His Eminence Dr Mbang on his good deeds towards the church and the society at large.

Several ministers who spoke during the visit at Prelate Mbang’s Chapel said Mbang being the last Patriarch, first Prelate and the spiritual father of the State is seen as the mirror that reflex good leadership and God’s gift to the christian community and the world Methodist church.

The Arch Bishop of Uyo Diocese, His Grace, Koko Bassey admonished the Methodist ministers to emulate His Eminences leadership style as one who showed courage in leadership and was successful.

He noted that Dr Mbang will receive more honour, care and love from Methodist ministers in his Diocese and also stressed that “We must give honour to whom honour is due since we can’t buy experience, as the longest ever serving leader of Methodist Church, we will be paying him a regular visit to learn”.

Arch Bishop, Koko Bassey emphasized on the uniqueness of Dr Sunday Mbang’s personality as an irreducible model of leadership by example, a broadminded bridge builder, teacher, master negotiator, straight forward individual who understood the techniques of church administration, christianity in the church and one who is very accommodating.

In his response, Prelate Mbang observed that many ministers today have deviated from the gospel of salvation which Jesus Christ preached and handed to his disciples, to borrow doctrines that suits the wish of men.

He admonished them to put a halt to unnecessary social doctrines copied from modern day preachers who have lost touch with the truth.

He urged the ministers to pray for Prelate Uche as he finishes his tenure and also pray for God to give us the amazing wisdom and grace to elect a God fearing, humble, administratively sound and peace loving Prelate at this year’s conference.

The ministers who were joy filled with the visitation thanked Archbishop Koko Bassey for his leadership style, changing the dynamics in Uyo doicese and prayed to God to bless His Eminence Mbang with good health and sustain his Life and thereafter presented gift items to him and promised to be visiting regularly.
